Our centre maintains an ongoing relationship with the tourism secor, which is currently our country's first source of revenue. This relationship has three aims: firstly, our centre encourages practical training and prepares students as future professionals with a guarantee of quality and specialisation; secondly, it facilitates private enterprise and public organisms' direct participation in educational activities, and thirdly, it contributes to our centre's students' introduction on to the labour market.

Students at the 'Escola Universitària de Turisme i Direcció Hotelera' join the Professional Programme at the outset of the course. This academic programme personalises each student's career guidance by means of individually monitoring their outlook and aptitudes, thereby enhancing their professional profiles. This enables students to make optimum use of their work by concentrating on creating an integrated curricular profile.
The aim of the professional programme is to introduce students to the labour market by conceptualising practical training as a cognitive area of real learning, while applying interdisciplinary knowledge from the Study Programme.
Students follow a systematically planned apprenticeship programme on a rotative basis in the tourism sector and its subsectors' companies and institutions.
While monitoring students, the Professional Programme provides
personalised career guidance and facilitates their professional insertion
on to the labour market through our jobshop.

The Institutions
and Enterprises Club (CEMI) has been conceived with a view to strengthening
relations between EUDTH-UAB and both the private and public sectors. At
the outset of the academic year 2001-2002 this network of relations and
contacts exceeded 300 companies and institutions. The Club's aim is to
systematise relations between all its participating companies and institutions,
thereby consolidating its contact network while creating solid foundations
that should ensure growth and interaction among its members.
Any company,
irrespective of size and importance, that collaborates with EUDTH-UAB
or its departments' activities may become a member. Such collaboration
may be on an occasional or regular basis and includes undergraduate studies,
the professional programme, continuing education, the International Centre
for Tourism Studies and Research (CInERT), and the Consulting Department
(ARC).
The Institutions
and Enterprises Club requests its members to collaborate with our centre
and participate in EUDTH's activates with the aim of bringing higher education,
the private sector and public institutions even closer together.
