Quality Policy EUTDH has set the following quality commitments: · To maintain a Quality Management system that fulfils students' expectations and the commitments outlined in the Service Charter. It should also adhere to the requirements of UNE EN ISO 9001:2000. · To guarantee an ongoing process of improvement in teaching by means of selection, training and participation of all teaching, administrative and auxiliary staff. · To guarantee the personalisation of student career counselling through the Professional Programme with its personal attention, which aims to assist students to consolidate their professional profiles by detecting their abilities and skills. All teaching and non-teaching staff at EUTDH. Mission The mission of the UAB University School of Tourism and Hotel Management (Escola Universitària de Turisme i Direcció Hotelera de la UAB) is to become leaders in Spain and to be a centre of international reference. Its signs of identity are integration in the UAB University, teaching excellence and rigour, an instigator of research, sectorial recognition and the access of its students on to the labour market. This project should be economically feasible and generate a feeling of belonging. History Since its first year of activity, the 'Escola Universitària de Turisme i Direcció Hotelera' has maintained a quality policy which involves all its professionals and affects the centre's educational and non-educational activities. In October 1999 the 'Laboratori General d'Assaigs i Investigacions' (LGAI) certified the EUTDH with Spanish and European quality recognition in accordance with the UNE-EN ISO 9002, and since 2003, the EUTDH also has the ISO 9001 certification for its quality regulation and for both its educational and managerial/administrative procedures. Thus, it became the first Spanish university school which obtained this certification. Objectives The EUTDH's quality objectives are focused on:
The Environmental Policy at EUTDH The general environmental policy at EUTDH is to foster and facilitate: 1. Responsible behaviour towards the environment. 2. The development of learning activities at the centre in tourism, hospitality and leisure, which are compatible with environmental values so that our future practitioners will behave responsibly towards the environment in their work. 3. Collaboration, cooperation and coordination with the UAB Prevention and Environment Service in its environmental policies, and in particular initiatives that are led by the UAB, given that EUTDH is an attached centre and depends on and is situated on the UAB Campus. 4. The development of internal learning activities for the university community (teaching, administrative and service staff as well as students) with a view to fulfilling the EUTDH environmental policy. 5. Awareness of environmental values in promotion, planning, commercialisation, management and administration of products, activities and tourism projects, with special attention to research and consultancy projects. 6. Development of the necessary internal and external communication activities, which would foster the fulfilment of our environmental management system. 7. The maximum possible reduction of consumption of resources and raw materials. 8. Recycling of waste and materials. 9. Coordination and collaboration with suppliers with a view to using ecological materials and products. 10. Compliance with environmental legislation or any other additional responsibilities in this area.
