      Computer Room Regulations

The computer rooms should be permanently locked. They should only be unlocked at the request of a teacher, a computer technician, a member of administrative staff or a student, provided that the rooms' regulations are complied with.

The rooms should only be used for information technology classes and on other occasions that require a PC.

Teachers should request the keys at the secretary's office and return them once a session has ended. They may use the rooms for general subjects as well as other educational functions.

Teachers will be responsible for the proper use and upkeep of computer rooms during classes. In the event of computer malfunction, they should complete the corresponding form and pass it to the computer technician or hand it in at the secretary's office. A copy should also be made available to information technology teachers.

This document will indicate that the computer rooms are in proper working order and will bring attention to any problems or anomolies.

The computer technician will be in charge of all computer-related issues. If a problem cannot be resolved, the centre's administrative services may intervene.

The computer technician should also complete the aforementioned document when necessary.

The computer room is available to students without a teacher's supervision. To make use of this facility, students are requested to register at the secretary's office.

Registration is individual and enables students to unlock and use the computer rooms, but obliges them to return the key once such a session has finished.

Registered students are responsible for the classroom and its facilities until they have returned the key.

When registered students wish to leave and the room is still in use, another one should be made responsible. Both students should register at the seretary's office, where all the corresponding obligations and responsibilities should be handed over. This new student will then be responsible for the room.

Students are allowed to use their own floppy disks, provided that they run a virus check before commencing a new session.

Users will be held responsible for any virus outbreak or malfunction of the computer room or its PCs. Non-registered users are also responsible for the proper use of computer equipment and programmes and will refrain from installing or using illegal copies of software.

Paper and floppy disks are to be provided by users. Such material will not be provided by the centre.

As in other classrooms, eating, drinking and smoking are forbidden.

Computer programmes (floppy disks, CD-ROMs), manuals and books should be locked in the computer room cupboard. This material may be removed and used provided that it is returned once a session has finished.

PCs, printers and other equipment should not be moved without the teacher's permission.

As in other parts of the centre, students are requested to use facilties with care and to comply with the general regulations in force at EUTDH.

The use of overhead projectors and complementary computer room equipment is governed by the same regulations as in other parts of the centre.

Teachers are responsible for the proper use of computer equipment which is moved to other classrooms or practical training rooms. The transfer of such equipment should be requested in advance at the secretary's office and its installation should be supervised by a computer technician, with a view to preventing anomolies.
