The academic year
2006-2007 commences on Friday 1 September 2006 and ends on Tuesday
31 July 2007.
For the year 2006-2007
the following periods will be considered working days from an academic
standpoint:
• First period:
from Friday 1 September to Friday 22 December 2006.
• Second period: from Monday 8 January to Friday 30 March 2007.
• Third period: from Tuesday 10 April to Tuesday 31 July 2007.
The following periods
will not be considered working days:
• From Friday
22 December 2006 to Sunday 7 January 2007, inclusive (Christmas holidays).
• From Saturday 31 March 2007 to Monday 9 April 2007, inclusive (Easter holidays).
• From Wednesday 1 to Friday 31 August 2007, inclusive (summer
holidays).
Teaching periods
First semester
The first semester
commences on Wednesday 18 September 2006 and ends on Friday 9 February
2007.
For first year students,
the academic year commences on Monday 18 September 2006; for second
and third year students on Wednesday 20 September 2006.
This period includes:
• 14 weeks
of classes from Monday 18 September 2006 to Friday 12 January 2007.
• 1 week prior to exams, from Saturday 13 to Thursday 18 January
2007.
• 3 weeks of exams: for the first sitting/first semester, from
Friday 19 to Friday 9 February 2007.
Second semester
The second semester
commences on Monday 12 February 2007 and ends on Friday 29 June 2007.
This period includes:
• 14 weeks
of classes: from Monday 12 February 2007 to Friday 18 May 2007.
• 1 week prior to exams, from Saturday 19 to Thursday 24 May 2007.
• 5 weeks of exams: three weeks for the first sitting/second semester,
from Friday 25 May to Friday 15 June 2007, and two weeks for the
second sitting (resit) / first semester, from Monday 18 June to Friday
29 June 2007.
