The UAB University School of Tourism and Hotel Management presents the course Perfection of Wine-Tasting Skills as an advanced specialised educational programme about the world of wine and wine tasting, which supplements the programme “Introduction to the world of wine and wine tasting”.

This programme is aimed at:

- University graduates in Tourism and graduates in Hotel Management.
- Professionals of the Catering and the Hospitality sector.
- Any person who wishes to acquire a knowledge of the essential aspects of the world of wine and wine tasting, and who has previously taken the course “Introduction to the world of wine and wine tasting”.

Module 1-. Advanced wine tasting.

- 1. Oenology
- The concept ofestate bottled wine.
- Soil analytics.
- The grapes: geographical location and distinctive properties.

2. Monovarietal wine tasting.

3. Tasting monovarietal wines of various origins.

4. Vertical wine tasting of Milmanda.

Module 2-. Bouquets and wine production.

1.Working with bouquets.

2. The influence of oak.
- American oak.
- French oak.

3.- Analysis of defects in wine.

Classes will be held in the Wine-Tasting Room of the UAB University School of Tourism and Hotel Management (UAB Campus). Course dates: 1st Round: from July 14th to 18th 2008 (class hours: from 6 to 9 p.m.).

For UAB students, lecturers and management and administration staff, a special fee rate of 95 euros will apply. For the generalpublic the fee is 115 euros. Payment of the registration fee is to be paid in a single instalment into the following bank account:

Registration and payment of registration fee is to be settled one week prior to the beginning of the course at the latest (see course dates above), and a copy of the credit transfer receipt is to be presented, along with the registration form, to the coordinator of continuing education at EUTDH within the same time limit.
